The beginning of the Spring Semester at Akita International University started off with a big bang!  As soon as I returned to school, I was greeted with such awesome enthusiasm from all my friends.  Of course, I was just as excited to see them too!
One of the first things I did when I got back to school was move into my new apartment!  With a normal sized refrigerator, a huge kitchen, a big bathtub, and my very own room, the first thought that came to my mind when I saw the apartment was, “YESSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

The second thing that came to my mind was, “I want to decorate this place!”  Now that it’s decorated, I feel perfectly at home here!

This semester came off to a very good start as I hanged out with all my friends every day for a whole week before school started.  We drank, talked story, cooked all sorts of food, and played all sorts of different games.

When school started, I made lots of new friends and joined lots of different clubs!  I even made my own very band!  Its name is Kas Anova!  Haha!

One of the very first things I’ve learnt about myself this semester would have to be how much I’ve grown since the start of my study abroad.  Although the Japanese culture can sometimes be hard to get used to, I’ve learnt to adjust my actions to suit each situation I find myself in.

The Japan that you find in one place can be a very different Japan from the one you find in another place.  The culture in Akita International University is very different from the one you find in Akita City, and is even more different than the one you’ll find in Tokyo or Tochigi.  These unique cultures have made me come to a realization that with new places in Japan come different personalities and unique perspectives.  Just thinking about it makes me want to explore every corner of Japan!

I’ve grown to like things more and more in Japan!  The things that I once saw complicated are now very simple to understand, and I feel more and more like I’m growing and becoming accustomed to the World of Japan.  To give you an idea of the warm simple feeling that I’m feeling, here’s a song for you to listen to; Romeo+Juliet by Mongol800.
