So in the past two weeks, I’ve been tasting the local beers! The first place I went to was a local Brewery known as Aqula, and the second place that I went to was the Local Beer Festival. I’m not really an alcoholic person, but being in Akita, a place known for its rice and beer, I had to figure out what the hype was all about.
Aqula Brewery was a great place to hang out with friends and meet a few of the local people. For about 25 dollars, we got to drink all the drinks we wanted for about 2 hours. Of course, the beer here was fresh so all of it was delicious! They had Sakura flavored beer, orange flavored beer, and even plum flavored beer.
Aside from the beer, the atmosphere at this place was warm and cozy, even though we sat outside where it was cold and chilly. The night atmosphere is a place you have to go and experience yourself. When the sun goes down, the lights go up, and the seats are all filled, the place livens up like a party filled with close friends. At the end of the night, we ended up singing with the people who sat next us and talked story with the owner. There was even a picture of me hugging the owner… a picture I don’t remember taking.
The beer festival in Akita was small, but it was really nice to see what the local made beers are like. There were all sorts of beers there! They had grape flavored beers, melon flavored beers, and all sorts different shaded beers that went from a bright yellow to a dark black color.
That day, I went to the festival with a couple of my close friends, and even met up with friends that I hadn’t seen in a long while. Although, our time there was quite short, I thought it was extra fun to be there and hang out with everyone! Not only that, but to my surprise, the beer was quite delicious as there was one to suit every person’s tastes.
